File Sharing

As the demand for transferring of important files within limited timing increases, little did we know that millions of internet users everyday are transferring millions of files all over the world.

P2P File sharing defined

To understand this proposition, file sharing has been known as the process by which internet users can exchange photographs, mp3 files, documents, and other pieces of digital information in different formats as long as you have an internet connection. In other words, not only are internet users connected but they can also communicate more effectively and efficiently by transferring files through file sharing. Explaining these, virtually all file sharing programs rely on a peer to peer networking (P2P).

P2P History in a nutshell

Peer to peer networking was introduced in September 1999 by Napster. Later ,in March 2000, the internet saw a new wave of P2P file sharing activities by another created internet tool called Gnutella, and finally later in April, 2001, BitTorrent swept across countries and became the largest file sharing internet tool for transferring and downloading of files.Below shows the first few famously used downloading tools for internet users to tap on.

Also networks are widely dependent on how it is structured. Below are 2 examples that shows how computers are networked and how files are shared within that circle of p2p file sharers.

PEER-TO-PEER BASED NETWORK AND SERVER BASED NETWORKS ( NOT PEER-TO-PEER)

Meanwhile, at present, new names have emerged and stood out in the internet over taking other P2P file sharing programs. Hence, different types of P2P programs were introduced and they included different functions, speed capabilities, file types, and the depth of your search.

Considering a P2P program?

If you are considering a P2P program, one good indicator would be the popularity of these programs. Likewise, there are a few which are decreasing in attractiveness to people while some are going up, primarily due to the kind of features that they offer and the quality of that downloaded file type.

Therefore, it is essential to consider the details before trying a new P2P network file sharing program.
Below are a few new P2P commonly used by internet users. Click on those links to view the official websites of these P2P tools.
